EP.12 - YELLOW AND THE CHRISTMAS PLAY

In the last few hours, Yellow had been casting ducks for the Christmas show. He’d soon regretted coming forward for this task.  Every duck had came up with an idea or a plot he/she wanted to show them. So many ideas, all so very impossible to realize. Violet (Yellow’s smart sister) was in charge of the show. She had discarded every one bluntly telling the artists they were out of their freaking minds in asking what they were asking. She got guts, this duck. At one point she had some urgent errand to do so Orange took her place. She thought it was a smart move but it happened to be a dumb one.
Orange was more interested in she-ducks than actual stories so when  four very eye-catching ducks dressed as sirens went on the stage and played a song from “Odyssey” by some blind writer who died eons ago, he immediately signed up all of them. Amy, blond long hair and amethyst suite, Marina, hazel waves and blue suite, Esmeralda, red haired with a green suite, and Rose, a cheeky brunette with a dark pink suite, were amused.
Yellow didn’t object to his bro choice. It seemed a nice plot after all. When Violet came back, she went mad and scolded them pretty badly. For them it all came out of the blue. They couldn't understad why she was that enraged ‘till Shakespeare duck told them the ALL Odyssey and they discovered it was no musical.
At the end of the day they had an angry sister and four stunning duck-sirens.
Yellow - then - had the smartest idea and – unbelievably – all the crew's ducks agreed with him that it was an amazing plan.
He thought they could have played “The little mermaid”.  It was a simple story, had a few nice songs and there was plenty of mermaids (he also planned to cast himself for the role of prince Eric).
Simply genius.
Violet called in the whole cast, the four mermaids included, and they all lined up on the bathtub edge. She explained they’d chosen “The little mermaid” and allotted the roles. She had also decided to give Ariel’s role to Marina since she had nice red hair.
The other girls protested and started to fight with each other. Yellow tried to calm them down but he got involved in the scuffle and  - as always – fall into the bathtub. He was not alone this time, though.
Orange looked down at him and smiled knowingly “Need help?” he said amused. “Take your time” Yellow replied, his voice barely audible in the mess that was the bickering party of the four mermaid.

Bottom line, don't count your chickens before they're hatched.
